The HECHT 9254 is a compact motor vacuum with the ability to quickly convert to a powerful blower. It is powered by a two-stroke combustion engine with a volume of 25.4 cm3 and 1 HP power. At maximum engine speed of 7,500 rpm, the air volume transferred is up to 0.2 m3/s, reaching a speed of 41 m/s. The net weight of the machine is just 5.8 kg. For easy starting, the engine is equipped with a choke, and starting is done traditionally using a starter cord.
In vacuum mode, leaves are sucked in by a large nozzle to steel mulching knives located before the turbine, which significantly reduce the volume of the sucked material. At high speeds, the leaves are chopped into fine mulch, perfectly filling the 50-liter bag made of durable fabric. The bag is equipped with a shoulder strap that carries the entire weight of the sucked leaves, so hands are not as strained during work. The connection between the bag and the vacuum is solved using an elbow that allows the vacuum relatively free movement. The vacuum's throttle control is clearly solved with a trigger on the main handle, where the throttle lock lever is also located. This helps the operator focus on the work without the need to constantly hold the throttle.
To quickly convert the vacuum to a powerful blower, simply disconnect the suction nozzle and the elbow with the leaf bag. The suction nozzle opening is closed with a large intake grid, which by its design prevents clothing from being drawn in and thus reduces blowing power. Instead of the elbow for exhaust into the bag, a blowing nozzle with a specially shaped outlet is installed. Blower mode allows quickly blowing leaves from large areas into a pile, including cleaning leaves containing hard objects such as nuts, stones, or branch pieces that could damage the vacuum when sucking. The blower can also blow dust and dirt from sidewalks, hard-to-reach corners, mowed grass from paths, and in winter, it easily handles freshly fallen snow. When working with a blower, it is important to remember that the fast air stream can throw some objects at high speed, so it is important to work carefully. It is crucial to ensure that no other people are in the vicinity and to use protective equipment such as safety glasses.
