The 005125B battery is designed to power products from the Accu programme 5140 range. Within the Accu programme, a comprehensive range of HECHT products is offered, all powered by the same type of battery. These batteries are mutually interchangeable, differing only in capacity, i.e. the amount of energy they can store. Higher capacity naturally means longer operating time for the battery-powered machine on a single charge. This battery is included with some cordless mowers from the Accu programme 5140 range. Optionally, it can be purchased for other products within the accu programme that are supplied without a battery. It may also be advisable to purchase a second battery if one battery is insufficient for the scope of work being carried out. Since these types of batteries are charged on an external charger, there is no problem charging one battery whilst the other is being used to power the machine.
Battery Maintenance
Li-ion batteries require a different method of charging and discharging; the electronics integrated in the battery take care of everything. These electronics can prevent damage to the battery from excessive discharge, overcharging, overheating or short circuit connection. The battery itself is fitted with very high-quality cells. For the battery to serve reliably for a long time, it should never be stored discharged, but at the same time it is not advisable to store it fully charged either. When storing out of season, it should be charged to approximately 40 – 50%. Never store the battery fully discharged for long periods; even though self-discharge is relatively low, if the voltage of any of the cells drops below 2.8 V, it will be difficult to "revive" the battery. When storing a discharged battery for long periods, there is a risk that it will "die" permanently. The battery should be stored in a cool place; high temperatures are harmful to it, but at the same time it does not tolerate frost well. Never attempt to charge the battery quickly; use only the charger supplied with the Hecht product. A properly used Hecht Li-Ion battery has a lifespan of around 1000 charging cycles, which can mean several years of reliable use. However, improper use can significantly shorten its lifespan.
The battery is equipped with a charge level indicator; simply press the button at any time and you will have an immediate overview of the charge status.
