The HECHT 8616 SE motorised rotary brush is an extended version of the successful and popular HECHT 8616 brush series, compared to which the SE version adds an electric starter and headlight. Starting is carried out by connecting to the 230V/50Hz mains or manually. The electric start is particularly useful in the winter months, when you can simply plug the machine into a standard socket with an extension cable, start the cold engine at the touch of a button and disconnect the cable after starting. When the engine is warm, it is no problem to start the engine after short breaks by pulling the starter rod.
The HECHT 8616 series of motorised brushes are truly multifunctional devices that can handle all year-round cleaning of pavements, paths and other areas around your home. Thanks to the ingeniously simple accessory exchange system, you can turn it from a brush into a full-fledged snow blower or a shovel in one minute, for example. The rotary brush itself can also be supplemented with a litter catcher. With a Hecht OHV engine rated at 3.6 kW combined with relatively large treaded wheels, it has excellent ground clearance and can be fitted with snow chains in winter conditions in the event of poor passability. Four speeds are available for forward travel and two speeds for reverse travel. With the rotary brush fitted, the machine has a working width of 62 cm. The brush can be supplemented with a 61 cm wide plough blade (optional accessory), suitable for rough snow clearance, for example, while the brush behind the plough takes care of the rest of the perfect cleaning. Another optional accessory is the aforementioned waste catcher, which conveniently collects swept-up rubbish and leaves. For sweeping in hard-to-reach corners, the directional tilt of the brush can be controlled directly from the operator's seat.
Optional accessories
A great advantage is the possibility to connect optional accessories. This means that you can use the brush all year round and in some respects even outperforms many snow blowers. First and foremost, you can attach a plough blade to rough away the layer of snow, and the brush behind the plough blade sweeps away any residual snow so that the pavement is completely clear.
The second option is to convert the brush into a full-size, two-stage snow blower that can handle compacted snow. This snow blower lacks none of the features of a conventional two-stage snow blower, and features a durable steel bunker, a quality toothed steel auger, as well as a rotating steel chimney controlled directly from the operator's seat. Adjustable skids are already a standard feature on HECHT two-stage snow blowers. However, what you won't find on a conventional snow blower is the tool change option. Here again, you have the great option of roughly shovelling the snow with the snowblower and then brushing off the residue with the brush. Thanks to the adjustable gliders, you don't have to worry about using the cutter even on interlocking paving stones; with the correct setting, the cutter blades always move just above the surface and there is no risk of damage. The slides are also made of durable plastic, so the pavement will never come into contact with metal parts that could leave scratches or rust marks. At the same time, especially with the cutter in winter, you will fully appreciate the electric start and the headlight will come in handy with short winter days.
