The design of the Hecht 9661 SE is based on the proven and popular HECHT 9661, which has been improved in this version with an efficient headlight and electric starter. The headlight is particularly useful in the early morning or late evening when working in areas with poor lighting. The electric starter is powered from the normal 230 V/50 Hz mains, avoiding problems with the battery being exposed to freezing weather and cold starts. The cutter can then be plugged into the mains, which reliably supplies enough power for starting, and once the power cord is disconnected, it can be used as normal, like any other cutter.
The cutter is powered by a 4-stroke Hecht OHV engine with 5.5 HP. This drives both the 4 steel blade stages and the travel itself. The cutter blades are hidden under a high quality, durable steel chassis, and will readily bite into icy snow. The width of the cutter is 61 cm and the height is 53 cm. The chimney is conveniently adjustable from the operator's position by 190° up to a distance of 13 m. For travel, 6 forward and 2 reverse speeds can be selected. This makes it possible to ideally adjust the travel speed to the condition and amount of snow being shoveled. The snow blower is equipped with deep tread wheels to ensure good traction.
Engine power figures are measured at 3600 rpm. The machine will not achieve this performance in normal use. For an accurate comparison of engine performance, use the content and type of engine.
