The HECHT 551 XRC AKU is a professional battery-powered remote-controlled lawn mower that handles demanding terrain and steep slopes with ease. How do I replace the blade or blade carrier?
Only replace the blade when the engine is switched off or with the battery removed on battery-powered models. Always use original spare parts designed for your specific mower model. Detailed instructions can be found in the operating manual. If you don't feel confident replacing it yourself, contact an authorised HECHT service centre, where our service technicians will be happy to carry out the replacement for you.

What oil should I use and how much should I put in the mower?
The recommended type and quantity of oil varies depending on the engine type. Precise information can be found in the technical parameters of the specific model or in the operating manual. When checking the level, always use the oil dipstick and never exceed the maximum recommended level. If you're unsure about the correct oil selection, we'll be happy to advise you at any HECHT store.

What maintenance does the mower require?
For long service life, we recommend regularly cleaning the underside of the deck, checking the condition of the blade, air filter and spark plug. For petrol models, it's also important to change the engine oil regularly. A precise maintenance schedule can be found in the operating manual. You can also entrust maintenance to us – at our stores we're happy to offer you service and ensure that your mower is always ready for the next season.

How fast is the drive?
Drive speed depends on the specific model. For most mowers, it corresponds approximately to normal walking speed. The exact value can be found in the product's technical parameters.

Is mower assembly complicated?
No. The mower is delivered partially assembled and its assembly is simple. In most cases, you just need to fold the handle, attach the collection bag and prepare the machine according to the instructions. The entire preparation usually takes 15–30 minutes. If you want to save yourself the work, you can use our free commissioning service at the store. We'll prepare the mower for operation and also familiarise you with basic operation and maintenance.

In what condition will the mower arrive?
The mower is delivered safely packed in a transport carton and partially assembled. Some parts need to be simply completed according to the enclosed instructions. If you choose personal collection at one of our stores, we'll prepare the mower for operation free of charge, so you can start mowing straight away when you get home.

How tall grass can it mow?
The mower can handle even taller grass, but you'll achieve the best results with regular mowing. For overgrown grass, we recommend starting at the highest cutting height and mowing in multiple passes if necessary. This will achieve a better result and also reduce engine load.

Is a Briggs & Stratton or Loncin engine better?
Both brands manufacture quality and reliable engines. Briggs & Stratton is a long-established American manufacturer with an extensive service network, whilst Loncin engines offer an excellent price-to-performance ratio and are also used in many professional machines. More important than the engine brand itself is regular maintenance and correct operation. If you're unsure about your choice, our specialists will be happy to recommend a suitable model.

How long does the battery last on a battery-powered mower?
Battery life depends on battery capacity, grass height, mowing method and garden size. Indicative operating time can be found in the technical parameters of the specific model. For larger properties, we recommend purchasing a second battery, which allows you to continue working without waiting for charging.

Do I need two batteries, or can I mow with one?
You can mow with just one battery. However, if you have a larger garden, a second battery allows you to continue working seamlessly whilst the first one charges. With many HECHT battery-powered machines, you can also use one battery for other tools from the same battery platform.

How do I set up a robotic mower?
The package includes detailed instructions that will guide you through the installation of the perimeter wire, creating the working area and setting the time schedule. We recommend devoting sufficient time to the initial setup, as correct installation is the foundation of trouble-free operation. If you don't feel confident with the installation, contact one of our HECHT stores. We'll be happy to advise you or recommend a suitable solution.
